Happy New Year
It's the new year and I can't help feeling I should have something to say. All around blogs are listing resolutions, best of 2005's, and various and sundry pithy things, but I'm finding myself with nothing to say.
Certainly this past year has been an eventful one for me. Since January of 2004 I have lost about 100 lbs. I have seen radical shifts in my physical well-being and state of mind that have resulted in a lot of questions, a few answers, and a changing outlook on the world. But everytime I try to write about it, things quickly devolve into self-pity, self-obsession, or half-baked attempts at profundity.
Many good things happened in 2005. Many good things seem poised to happen in 2006. It remains to see what they will be. As it feels right, I'll try to write about them. All things in due time.
I am proud that a grant proposal I wrote for the band I play in, Screwtape Lewis, has secured us $4000 to hire someone to poke radio with a stick in an effort to get our album played. We'll see how that comes out.
